Associate (510) 465-7010 x131
Dylan joined PYATOK in 2011 after graduating summa cum laude from the University of Oregon. His particular interests include urban housing design; sustainable, mixed-use urbanism; and the role individual building projects play in forming the larger urban fabric. As part of his research, Dylan examined the benefits of compact, mixed-use urban environments and investigated how they function equitably from a social perspective while also promoting environmental sustainability. Likewise, a study-abroad program in Vicenza, Italy gave him the opportunity to explore the ways well-put-together urban environments can create the physical setting to support a rich and vibrant quality of life. These interests are what drew Dylan to PYATOK and the Bay Area.

Dylan takes a meticulous and thorough approach in his work, producing renderings, graphics, and digital concept models for design studies and on-going marketing efforts. He has provided support on larger projects, both affordable and market-rate in various stages of design, the most recent of these projects being schematic design for Opera Warehouse Apartments and the design development and construction documentation phases of Paradise Creek Affordable Housing. Dylan also coordinates smaller projects, including office tenant improvements, for which he managed Revit models and permit drawing sets, as well as a medium-density housing project for Habitat for Humanity EB/SV during schematic design and the planning permitting process.

Since moving from the Pacific Northwest, Dylan has found many hours of enjoyment exploring the Bay Area by bike, foot, and public transit, from the dense and handsome neighborhoods of San Francisco, to Oakland’s local business streets, to the hills and beaches of the area’s parklands. He also enjoys playing the violin from time to time, and, a gardener without a garden, he currently maintains several indoor plants.
