A vacant, 1.7-acre flag lot bounded by industrial and multifamily residential uses is being transformed into a new five-story, 177-unit residential community and urban retreat. The site falls within the Belmont Village Specific Plan, and lies within walking distance of the Belmont Caltrain station, Nesbit Elementary School, and downtown Belmont.
Four stories of residences will be arranged around a central courtyard above a podium of resident amenities and parking. The courtyard supports a pool, outdoor lounges, and connection to a common clubhouse. The ground level also consists of a leasing office, lobby, lounge, coworking spaces, and a fitness studio. A rooftop lounge and roof deck face west with unobstructed views of the hills. The project leverages the flag lot to create a relaxed, verdant approach for all modes of transport. A ‘social loop’ surrounds the building, encouraging residents to stroll and engage with a variety of activities incorporated into the hardscape.
The project will be among the first to support the Belmont Village Specific Plan (a "Priority Development Area" as designated by the Association of Bay Area Governments), which aims to establish a distinctive character and identity for the district. At a height of 60 feet, the project will be highly visible, and each facade is articulated to establish the tenor and tone of a welcoming, charming, and accessible Belmont Village.
